"... Deola has been part of multiple trial teams with jury awards in excess of $2 Billion...”

Deola Ali is a commercial litigator with a background in complex commercial cases and class actions. To date he has been part of multiple trial teams with jury awards in excess of $2 Billion from highly contested trials across the country.

Deola also represents non-corporate clients where the decision to accept a matter rests on the fundamental question of justice at stake and not necessarily the amount in dispute. He received the Thurgood Marshall award from the New York City Bar Association for providing exemplary legal service in the cause of justice while serving as pro bono counsel to an individual under the sentence of death. And in 2015 he represented a Navy veteran before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, obtaining a critical remand for the seriously-ill Veteran using an aggressive briefing strategy that facilitated an early win.

Before Hughes Ellzey Deola practiced in New York City with one of the premier law firms in the country representing top corporate entities in technology disputes, including patents. He is admitted to the U.S.P.T.O and the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Deola volunteers on the board of a renowned global non-profit organization that promotes access to quality modern education for children in Africa and the Caribbean.  He is an avid reader of classics in his spare time and a lifelong enthusiast of the J-series Land Cruisers. He runs an FJ80 daily driver.
